Paul's Profile - Page 2
From the first rocky riff of Fuelling His Anger to the final three-part harmony chorus of Heart of Gold , Paul takes you on a whistle stop tour of his own life, with a few fictitious scenarios you might be able to relate to thrown into the mix as well. Paul is proud of his first album and every song is special to him. Some were homages to girlfriends, some were just made up, and Have You Ever… was written for anyone who felt down, in the hope that this lullaby-esque anthem would help them feel better, as someone is going through the pain with them.
Other songs on the album discuss drugs (Fuelling His Anger), anorexia from the point of view of a boy who's confused because his girlfriend suffers from it (Beautiful As You Are) to the serendipitous meeting of lovers due to losing a wallet (Since We're In Love). For the country fan, Paul's “one and only country song for the line dancers” has probably the longest song title in history: You Know When You're in Love When Your Heart is on the Line. The particularly catchy chorus is also a profound statement of the power and yet helplessness one suffers when in love.
